I'm behind a firewall and a router and haven't had any trouble yet, after 2 beta weekend events.

The game exclusively uses outbound tcp, so nat's wont be an issue.

Hardware and software firewall, with no problems at home. Company server at work, which I'm sure is firewalled and who knows what else, no problem there either.

The Firewall that is part of the McAfee Security Center doesn't particularly care for Guild Wars due to the nature of Streaming updates - unless the settings are changed, one would be forced to authorize it to connect to the internet each and every time they reconnect after an update.

I've got zero problems running through the campus firewall (and who knows how many routers and things) and Norton 2005's personal firewall (set to allow gw.exe any access it wants). None of my buddies on campus have had any toruble getting through the campus system or XP's own crazy little wall.

Thanx guys |

No problems here, I'm using a Linksys router with built in Firewall on default setting.

but just so you know, you can actually start up the client right now to see if it will go through your firewall. If you can get to the log in screen without firewall troubles, the rest of the game should run fine. (at least that is the way it is with Norton, only the initial connect is where it wants to block GW.exe) |

Router firewall
My Netgear SLI hardware firewall won't let me connect (I had to disable it, EVEN with port forwarding enabled...sheesh!), but with NAT, and a couple of software firewalls (MS, ZonaAlarm, etc). It's fine when I connect.
